Recycle E-Waste
By now, we all realize
that recycling makes sense and we should do it. Slowly but surely, recycling has
become available in just about every city and town. But what about the stuff
that can't go in the recycling bin? The EPA and other agencies suggest that
electronic waste (aka e-waste) is the fastest
growing waste stream in the world. Chances are, you have an outdated electronic
appliance gathering dust somewhere in your house right now. This Earth Day, why
not help make sure those gadget end up properly recycled instead of taking up
space or leaching toxins in a landfill? Hall county's recycling center is at
1008 Chestnut St. SE. Click here to read the details
on recycling your electronics locally.
Atlanta's OTHER Falcons
Peregrine falcons have been nesting at
SunTrust Plaza in Atlanta since 1997.This camera offers a unique look at a pair
is nesting in a planter on a balcony more than 50 stories above ground. High
above any natural predators, the planter offers soft substrate for the nest and
affords some protection from harsh weather. T
Fast and Fun Craft
So simple! Layer cheap plastic beads in
cake pans (no lining required), melt at 400 for 20 minutes, let cool, & then
just flip them out. Drill a hole in it to make it
a suncatcher! It's a great craft for kids (choose the colors, arrange them in
the pans) to make as gifts for grandparents or teachers. Small ones be used as
coasters. It looks like glass but not it's
breakable.
Whatcha
Eatin'?
This has to be one of the easiest recipes
ever- and so delicious! Click here
to find the easiest Key lime pie ever. And click here
to try a nice change from graham cracker crusts- try making one using Ritz
crackers!
Wise Words
"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more."
                                                                    ~ George Gordon, Lord Byron
